About the Blue Book

Go, go, go up yonder
Go where words will take you
Where thoughts are ladders
Into heaven’s library
Go up, go up
Up the ladders
Through the clouds
Where books light up
There stretch out your hand
Take hold of the blue book
There lies what you ought to write
Pulling down stories
From heaven to earth
Bringing praise to God
By making known
His words
Go up the ladder
Beyond your mind
Lose track of your thoughts
Get lost in the words
That long existed
Before you were born
Waiting in time for you to pen
Write what you see
Write what you hear
Write what you touch
There write about
Messengers of God
Whose hair does not burn
Though they are in the fire
Though they are fire
They neither smoke nor burn up
Write of light without shadows
Write of sparkling jewels
The size of mountains
Close your eyes
Write these words
As inscribed in the blue book
The angels have opened to you
Write of what is
Yet remains unseen by the carnal mind
Write of what was
So that we will know how we can be
Write
Write of what is to come
Write
Because words
Become worlds

Inspired by a joke by Isi De Gesirgney” about the blue book”, inspired by Esme Schmitt’s vision of “heaven’s library”. Written for every writer who longs to translate heavenly activities in earthly languages.

Cornè Jacob's Ladder

Centered in the midst
Of an angelic symphony
Encircled
By a whirlwind
Of peace and power
You are the one
Who abides in His presence

You have become
An angelic attraction
Your head moves
Sometimes to one side
Another time to another side
As though alarmed
Ducking angels wings
If you opened your eyes
You would see
That in fact heaven
Is right around you
Angelic activity
Moving from heaven to earth
Faster
Than
Jacob’s ladder
Releasing revelation
Heavy laden with heavenly gifts
Leaving them at the foot of the ladder
Where you are
Around you
Anyone who sees
Can walk away
With whatever they need
From heaven

His voice surrounds you
Like water spinning around you
You stand
In a whirlwind
Of God’s voice

Nicole the star

In a few words
Nicole is a star
That shines brighter
Yet refuses to be a lone star
She is a star that knows
That the heavens
Are far too vast
For one lone star
So she shines her light
Drawing other stars
Calling them to shine with her
From every corner of Africa
Brightening the African sky
She knows that Africa
Is blessed
With
Many
More
*stars
Whose light
Must be SEEN
The more stars shine
The more we see
She follows
The voice
That said
Who are you?
Not
To be
Great?

Cain and Abel, A Simple Story

The story of Cain and Abel is simple. Cain trusted in his human ability, the work of his hands for God. Abel trusted and leaned on God's ability. Able trusted fully in the work of God. Cain, having been shown the right way by God he was unrepentant. He was interested in what he could do for God and God better be impressed by his work whether he liked it or not. If God didn't like it, well then, if He wants blood He would see it, so he spilt the blood of Abel. What arrogance? (A shadow of the betrayal that would save us all in Judas, pharasees spilling the blood of Christ) .

Abel knew God was Able  so he gave a sacrifice to God that simply showed that he was RECEIVING God's salvation, just as we receive the work of Jesus as the Lamb sacrificed. He thus acknowledged God as the One who was able to save.

Thus, the sacrifice of bulls and goats was never something that could take away sins but a ritual that pointed to the real sacrifice off Christ that whoever looks to Christ shall indeed be saved. The sacrifice of bulls and goats and lambs was thus always about saying Lord we look to You as the One who saves, as the One who takes away the sin of the world. We look to the real Lamb to come who takes away the sin once and for all.

The sacrifice was thus always about salvation and the Mesaiah. Cain said no thanks to Your Saviour, I won't just kill a lamb i'll kill the man You are pleased with because he is casting a bad light on my human works.

Abel comes in humility declaring the coming of the Saviour. We come humbly receiving God's finished work of salvation that does not need our work. We say yes to the work of God. Yes! We look to the coming King Groom. We say"come Lord Jesus, come"

Beauty and Valentines

It is Valentines Day. It is a time to repeat classic poems such as "How do I love thee, let me count the ways". I am not one to celebrate Valentines Day I often dread it. A miracle has happened this time around I tried to rehate it as I do every year but I was not as successful. I will now count the ways with which I love.

Or like...

Without beauty there is no life. Beauty is what draws us towards anything or causes us to come alive. I am convinced that we come alive the moment we respond to beauty.

Personally, it is the reason I love God. I like God because He is the most magnificently beautiful Being. He is the author of beauty. He is all about bringing beauty, causing beauty, rescuing beauty wherever He sets food. He is the Creator of Paradise and Heaven. His throne is indescribably beautiful. He Himself is lovely, He is altogether lovely. He is outstanding in magnificence. He has no equals.

We all pursue beauty. We seek it in music, art and people. We choose beauty at every given opportunity.

You can call me vain but one glance of me and even the waiter knew the secret to my heart. I was in Cape Town last week and without being requested my waiter was divinely inspired to serve me tea from the finest cup he could find in his store. The cup was exquisite even to touch and hold. When I exclaimed with delight he informed us that he had particularly picked it to serve me in it because he knew I would love it. I am not a regular at that delightful restaurant so he did not do that because he had seen me before. My poor friend must have felt a little bit left out because she was served in a regular cup though even their regular is beautiful. I not only fell in love with their cup but tea itself was outstanding, infact I became a new convert to special french teas. That is how the French found a a place in my heart, with their delicious tea! French teas must be the best kept secret but I could have been the only person in the world who has been in the dark about this. The cake melted in our mouths it was fabulously delicious.

We worship and idolise what we find most beautiful. It is the reason we watch celebrities, how do they become so captivatingly beautiful? We don't want to be them, we want beauty, we hope to unearth it in ourselves as we read and read yet another magazine on how we can be beautiful.

It is never enough, yet there is one simple way to attain beauty forever. It is to gaze upon God's loveliness. It is the Psalmist David's ultimate desire "one thing that I desire, one thing that I seek, that I may dwell in the house of the Lord and gaze upon His beauty all the days of my life" - psalm 27: 4

God is the perfection and embodiment of all true beauty. Flowers fade, beautiful people die, yet God's beauty never fades but it increases.
He makes life beautiful in a way that money could not buy.God is so beautiful and makes all things beautiful in its time. You can call me vain but what about God? He dwells in perfect beauty, there is no flaw in Him, not even a wrinkle and He is ancient. Really ancient.

Gaze, gaze upon His beauty and you will never feel as though you need to fix yourself but as you gaze upon the loveliness of Jesus, God's Son, as you are fixated to the perfection of His loveliness, you will be fixed by His beauty because you held His gaze. His perfect gaze interestingly does not make you compare yourself to His. His perfection never makes you feel small but it uplifts, it increases your faith and it invites you to become one with His. His beauty is the kind of beauty that penetrates your being and beautifies you from the inside because outer beauty without matching inner beauty is like washing a rotten fruit. You can polish it on the outside but you will bite rot and the corruption of what is inside of it will destroy you from the inside. It will leave a bitter taste in your mouth because it had sold you beauty but it was far from it, it was only a cover and you will be left feeling ugly.

So let us fix our eyes on Jesus whose gaze we become and are perfected to His image. Lie down and receive the beauty of God's perfect love, let it transform you. Let it iron out all the wrinkles

And God bless the young gentleman who saw it fit to serve me tea from his finest cup!!

Affected by Table Mountain

It is probably not such a good idea to write so late at night for I fear my subconscious mind at this hour is louder than my conscious mind. The subconscious is the part that slips the truth out when one is most relaxed. This is the time where you hear the secrets the heart will never share with the mind. If you have ever chatted with a friend until late at night, this is the time you begin to really hear the things that are in the seat of their heart. What she or he really longs for, what she felt when this happened and that didn't happen.

I will tell you about the secret of the mountain. The mountain has always been an imposing beauty, a proud strong horse whose back is for the fearless to ride. As a child I might even have believed that it held history and mystery no human could ever fully articulate. I wanted it to tell me how it came to be, what happened all those years ago because it had been the only constant witness between time and humans in all the generations past. It knows better than we do about its history.

But we all know that mountains do not speak. They just stand there watching.

I have moved to the Eastern Cape to the region where there are no mountains but hills and plenty of sea. I never thought that I would ever miss Cape Town.  Well, I knew that I would most certainly miss my friends but not Table Mountain. I had spent enough years seeing it after all, I most certainly can do without it now.

In my fourth week in the Eastern Cape I began to long to be in my familiar surrounding. It seemed as though I had believed that I was on holiday until I realised that I missed my friends. Like one who awakes in the early hours of the morning realising that the temperature has dropped dramatically and stretches their hand for the blanket for cover and warmth. I turned and reached for my usual blanket and to my shock it was not there. My blanket was Table Mountain. I did not know it until now.

"For the mountains may depart.... but My kindness wil not depart from you niether will my covenant of completeness be removed from you" - Isaiah 54: 10

I had so many moments in Cape Town where I needed my security. My life was not easy there I needed safety. It turned out that Table Mountain was my faithful bodyguard watching my back. It stood there immovable in its beauty in rain or sunshine. It held its head high held by its solid back. I turned behind me and who had my back but that majestic beast of a mountain? I felt vulnerable without Table Mountain. I felt alone. Perhaps because I had lived all around that mountain I was never too far from it and now I had left my blanket behind and  when I felt the cold I couldn't pull it over me. I missed it. I knew I had lost my security blanket and my bodyguard or a reminder of an Immovable God.

I however knew that here in these hills God's presence is more tangible. There the mountain was a reminder of God's eternal presence however in these hills I do not need to see a mountain. He is my rock. He is with me everyday. Mountains have departed but He remains.

"Though the mountain may depart, and the hills be removed...My steadfast love will never be shaken"

He is Emmanuel, God with'n us, He is ever present eternal God.

Siki's hairdo

I love that I can do so many different styles with my hair. This time I was trying to prove a point to my mom and sister that I can do much more with my hair since they were grieving the fact that my hair was now straightened and lost its elasticity one has when they have the revered afro.

I hope my image is visible as I am yet to succeed with posting images on my blog. I seem to be the only blogger in the entire universe who struggles with posting images. My point has been proved and their mouths have been forced to throw a somewhat complimentary statement.

I could write books about my hair alone. I might have to write hair stories to make up for an invisible image if it truly is not visible. The only wonderful thing about this hairstyle is mainly because it is the work of my own hands.
